Tomorrow morning I'm heading up to NJ and moving into the new house. I just heard that my grandfather is in an ICU in WV and they're not totally sure what's wrong with him. Things never happen at convenient times, eh?

If by chance you find yourself enjoying a bit of cheese today, stop for a moment and think of Basil. Basil the rat. His last day with us on this Earth is tomorrow. He has an inoperable cancerous tumor and will be put to sleep at 10:00 a.m.

I had a hell of a busy weekend and will probably have a hell of a busy week. But I think I found a place to live (cross your fingers).

On Friday after work I drove to Charlottesville. Then Lina and I drove up to NJ on Saturday morning and looked for a new abode. Saturday night we drove to DE to stay with her aunt and her boyfriend. Then Sunday it was back to NJ, filled an application out for a house, and back to Charlottesville. The trip back took seven hours thanks to a Dave Matthews Band concert that was going on at the Nissan Pavillion and tying up traffic for miles and miles and miles and miles. The only amusing part of that was the truck that had a handmade sign in the back proclaiming "Will eat pussy for free DMB tickets". I don't know why they'd want to eat a cat, though. They're all furry and gamey.

The house we're trying to get is in Gloucester City. Seems like a rundown white trash sort of area, but this is New Jersey we're talking about. Perhaps that should go without saying. People there seemed really friendly anyway. And the self-proclaimed KING OF PIZZA has a restaurant near there. I will test his credentials, rest assured.

I might go see Land Of The Dead with Rachael and her new man today. Then I need to friggin pack. Luckily 75% of the stuff in the house belongs to Meli. I won't have much to do. That's the good thing about women taking all your stuff when you get divorced :-)

This is evil beyond words.

My last day at work is today. Right now, in fact. Only six hours left.

Tomorrow Lina and I are going up to Jersey to find a place to live. I start the new job in just over a week and I still have nowhere to stay. I'm more stressed than Roseanne Barr's size 3 thong.

I know there's not much in life better than pictures of japanese women holding things, but hear me out on this. You've got to try Chewties. They're the greatest snack ever invented, and I promise they're not made from a puppet's cooties. No. That would be just silly and immature.
Seriously, I really did have a lemon white yogurt Kit Kat yesterday. It was weird, but very good.
Today and three more days! That's all I have left at DMS. I need to start packing.

In the last 48 hours I've...

1) Still waited patiently to find out if/when my Relocation Bonus is coming
2) Laughed inwardly at work-related issues, while still making a passable effort to help out
3) Heard Lina's voice for the first time in way too many days
4) Made my first phone call to Amsterdam (see #3)
5) Met and had dinner with forum member MelliKat
6) Got my photo taken with an older (Greek?) guy that I knew for literally about five seconds. I got him to give the horns too \m/
7) Finally finished reading the His Dark Materials trilogy
8) Took a nasty, clotty, clumpy dump
9) Listened to Green Jelly, The Faint, Sentenced, Candlemass, Megadeth and Strapping Young Lad
10) Watched The 4400 and Wonder Showzen
11) Discovered the joys of The Farting Preacher, parts three and four
12) Stroked the sausage
13) Actually had a pleasant conversation with the cute girl that works at Quizno's but never seems to speak
14) Felt excitement, boredom, happiness, anxiety, contentment, restlessness and other varied emotions
15) Been insulted for not making enough money as well as envied for making so much money
16) Grown increasingly frustrated with my crappy ISP
17) Had way too many milkshakes
18) Taken out the trash and done the dishes
19) Decided not to shave all week
20) Peeled away at my unfortunate sunburn

Not the most exciting life, but there you go.

I turned in my resignation at work today. Oh, man! I feel as though a huge burden has been lifted from my shoulders. It's everything I dreamed it could be. I thought I'd feel worried/anxious about the new job, but I'm not at all. I'm excited. Or as excited as I ever get.

I'm meeting another girl from Teh Interweb™ tomorrow for dinner. Not on a "date," but just a friendly meeting.

Speaking of girls from Teh Interweb™, I miss Lina horribly. She'll be back from Germany on Monday. Maybe then I'll be able to get a good night's sleep again. I'm so pathetic. I'm hardly even a man. Just castrate me and get it over with.

I'm hungry enough to eat George Burns' decaying nutsack.

I stopped by PetSmart to visit Rachael at work yesterday. My visit led to an employee getting bloodied and a rogue hamster getting stuck in fly paper. All in all, I'd say that's pretty productive.

I have to work a ten hour shift today and I've been up since 2:00 a.m. for no apparent reason. Uggghhhhh.

I woke up after having a dream about the X-Men. There was another X-Man...er, X-Woman...named The Tasmanian Devil. She burrowed her way through the ground, causing massive damage pretty much like the one that harassed Bugs Bunny. Except she used the vibrations she caused in the earth to feel her way around, kinda like a bat uses its radar.

What was The Tasmanian Devil's true identity, you may ask? Helen friggin Keller. Swear to god.

Tonight on It's The Mind, we examine the phenomenon of deja vu. That strange feeling we sometimes get that we've lived through something before. That what is happening now has already happened before. Tonight on It's The Mind, we examine the phenomenon of deja vu. I'm driving up to New Jersey this weekend. Anybody want to meet me Sunday and exchange bodily fluids?

And now, a word to some people. To those people who shop in Wal-Mart. Or it could be anywhere, really, but it seems to happen in Wal-Mart a lot. Not all of those people. Just the ones that stop with their carts right in the middle of the aisle. The people that seem completely oblivious to anything going on around them. The ones who act as if they are the only customers in the entire store, consideration for others be damned, and they'll hold up the flow of traffic wherever, whenever, and for how long ever they damn well please. To those people, I say this: Go fellate George Burns' corpse.

I added in links for the music collection and album reviews. The collection because it's useful to me. The reviews because I'm vain. Well, the whole site because I'm vain, but you know what I mean.

I bought a lawnmower. You bastards didn't immediately dump $200 in my PayPal account upon request. What is wrong with you?? On the plus side, this weighs about 1/4 of what my old one did. It's gonna be easy to push around.

That reminds me, I need to add the PayPal link too. A procrastinator's work is never done.

The 4400 started again tonight. I'm kinda-sorta anxious to see Season Two. As anxious as I can be for an off-season poor man's sci-fi miniseries with a nearly-adequate cast and storyline. It'll do while Lost is in reruns.

My vacation is technically over, although I still have a couple days before heading back to work on Tuesday. It's four day work weeks for the immediate future, which has its positives and negatives. Like everything else in life.

Lina and I spent the last week in WV, doing a lot of nothing. We watched the first season of Babylon 5 all the way through and a few episodes of the second season. We also hit all the tourist spots, had a cookout with some of my extended family and ate a friggin kick-ass 21-inch pizza from Fox's Pizza Den. This afternoon she left for Germany, where she'll be for just over two weeks.

Oh, I saw Revenge Of The Sith. I could barely stay awake through it. I thought this was supposed to be a dark and violent film. I allow, of course, for the fact that it is part of a very mainstream franchise. But still. It just made me want to sleep.

My lawn mower is a pain in my arse. Buy me a new one.
